Evaluation Question 6: What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have used the SLR camera's to take all the photo's on my music magazine. My photo's are more clear and I have used the focus and zoom on these camera's to gain a better end result.
Throughout the task I have used blogger to upload my planning and research tasks and show the whole process of how my music magazine has progressed.
I used PowerPoint in my evaluation for question one. It made the work easier because it had all the tools I needed for the work I had to do.
I uploaded my photo's from the SLR camera's to iPhoto and used this to chose the photo's I wanted to use in the end.
I used Prezi for question 5 of my evaluation, i used it to show how I addressed the audience.
I used flickr to talk about the distribution of my music magazine.

Evaluation Question 5: How did you attract/address your audience?

Sunday, 4 March 2012

Evaluation Question 4: Who would be the audience for your media product? Why?

  • This is the kind of person who would buy my magazine. I have drawn him as a male as stereotypically, that is the gender which is associated with rock, and rock magazines.
  • I have made 'Olly' a student, as students are the audience of my magazine.
  • I have drawn him with a guitar to represent his passion for music, as he is the audience I have chosen to buy my music magazine.
  • The clothes I have drawn are ones that match the clothes of models in my magazine. Eg, skinny jeans, checked shirts, converse.
  • The music I said 'Olly' would be interested in, was the sorts of bands I have included in my magazine.

Evaluation Question 3: What kind of media institution might distribute your product and why?

Evaluation Question 2: How does you media product represent particular social groups?

1.Posture: The model on the left is the photo I took, her head is slightly tilted down, to make her eyes stand out more when she looks up. I wanted her eyes to stand out because of the makeup she had on it. Whereas, the model on the right is looking straight at the camera with a slight tilt of the head to the right.

3.Angle: The picture on the left is more of a high angle shot, in comparison to the one on the right which is directly in front of the camera.

4. Shot type:My photo (on the left) is more of a mid shot to show her clothes, where as the photo on the right is a medium close up, to show her facial expressions more.

5.Lighting: The photo I took was set outside so the lighting was natural. The photo on the right is obviously shot in a studio, so I'm not sure about what lighting the photographer has used, but it is high key lighting and the photo is quite bright, like mine.

6.Costume: Because the model on the right has blonde hair with black clothes and my model has black hair, I decided to put her in white clothes. Both models are wearing the same kind of necklace, I think it makes the rock genre very obvious.

7.Expression: Both expressions are quite serious, this gives the models a particular rock, which I was trying to achieve.

8.Hair: The models have completely opposite hair colour, so I planned my outfit around this.
