1. One of the models in Kerrang has no hair, I defiantly didn't want a model with no hair, so chose 3 models with longer hair than the 3 models in Kerrang. I think this targets the audience that I'm thinking of, and who the audience would like to look like.
2. The background in Kerrang is plain white, and I didn't want to use a white background as I think it looks unprofessional and makes empty parts of the magazine more visible. I decided to use the natural background of the picture, as its quite dark anyway, which I wanted, but It's not just plain black. You can see there's a tree in the background between the center model and the model on the left.
3. The costumes in Kerrang are all the same and again quite plain, it makes the magazine look boring and it doesn't have much detail. I decided that my models would wear similar clothes, but different colours, so there's a theme, and you can tell there is a relationship between the band members.
4. On my front cover, there is a mix of girls and boys, this was done to target both genders, which makes it a wider target audience, this evidently brings in more money on sales which makes it more effective.
5. In Kerrang, there was a big banner going through it, making it a main section of the page. I decided not to make a feature story on the page, so that I had more room for different text and pictures. I think the thick banner looked quite unprofessional as it didn't contain much text. This is one of the reasons I decided not to use this idea.
6. I used a banner at the top of my page, like Kerrang, but unlike Kerrang, I used another one at the bottom, I think this brings the magazine together, and makes it clear that there's a 'beginning and end' to the front page.
